The next morning we meet at the train station at 9h00 for a tour of Montpellier. Im leading one of the three groups (last year we got some rocks thrown at us by some obnoxious teenagers so this year we tried to be more descreet than 20 Americans walking in a huge group.) and I scared my girls. I tried to set the tone of the program as "serious french" by only speaking in French, so im not sure their jet lagged, culture shocked selves followed me for the whole 2 hours, but hopefully they got the high points.
Debbie, her two TA's, Scott and I head to one of my favorite restaurants in Montpellier: La Tomate. It's an italian-esque restaurant with a 3-course menu for under 10€ and huge portions. My grated carrot salad, seafood lasagna, and ile flotant hit the spot. They left to take their oral exams, and I took a nap until it was time to cook dinner. A salad, sautéd vegetables in a creme sauce and wine were about as good as I could do given debbies no glucose no gluten diet.
After a good nights sleep, I make some last minute travel confirmations, go out to eat with the group, and head to the train station.
